Piano -

Michael Bonney - Mr. Bonney holds a Master of Music degree form the University of North Texas in piano performance.  He is a very accomplished pianist who has performed in the United States, as well as in South Africa, Bulgaria, and the Czech Republic.  He is currently pursuing a Doctorate in piano performance at the University of North Texas.

Sheri Boyce
-
Director of SMA - Mrs. Boyce holds a Master of Music from Baylor University in Piano Pedagogy and Performance, where she studied piano with Roger Keyes.  She earned her Bachor of Music at the University of Texas at Tyler in Piano Performance, studying with Lynda Stephens and Vicki Conway.  Sheri is a member of Music Teachers National Association and Mid-Cities Music Teachers Association and is a licensed Kindermusik educator.

Originally from Kansas, Lori received her Bachelor of Music in piano performance at the University of Kansas, where she studied piano with Dr. Jack Winerock, and a Master of Music in piano performance at Texas Christian University, where she studied with Dr. Tamas Ungar.  She has performed collaboratively and as a soloist throughout the Midwest, and in Australia, Belgium, and France.


Heather Muskrat - Heather Muskrat has a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from Baylor University and a Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy from Texas Christian University.  She has ten years of experience teaching private lessons to students of all ages and levels of playing.  Heather also has experience teaching group lessons, early childhood music, and is a trained Music Together instructor.  Heather is an active member of Music Teachers National Association (MTNA).  She loves teaching children, and her goal is to instill a love of music in all of her students.

Hyojin Woo
- Mrs. Woo holds a Doctorate of Musical Arts from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.  She earned her Master of Music degree in Music Theory there as well.  Hyojin also holds a Master of Music in Composition and Bachelor of Music in Composition from Seoul National University in Seoul, Korea.

Andy Sperandeo - Andy received his Bachelor's degree in music from the University of North Texas.

Mike Urness -
Assistant Director / Coordinator of Guitar Studies - Mr. Urness originally hails from Minnesota, where he taught and played music professionally for 4 years before moving to Texas in 1995.  Since then, he has completed a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance from the University of North Texas.  Mike is active in performing and teaching throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area.


 


Voice -

Alissa Taylor - Mrs. Taylor is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Vocal Performance at the University of North Texas.  She holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Baylor University.  A native of the DFW Metro area,  Alissa grew up in Grapevine.

Lauren Morgan
- Mrs. Morgan is a native Californian and holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Texas Christian University.  While at TCU, Mrs. Morgan was an active participant in both the choir and opera theater programs.  She has enjoyed singing both choral masterworks and operatic roles. 
Before moving to Texas, Lauren also studied theater and performed roles in numerous musical theater productions. 

 


Drumset -

Josh Dresser - Josh is a graduate of the University of North Texas, where he majored in Jazz.

Steve Hill
- Mr. Hill holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of North Texas.  While at UNT, he studied drumset with Ed Soph and snare drum with Dr. Ron Fink.  Steve performs locally with various bands, and has played drums touring the US and Europe.

Frederick Boyce -
Owner of SMA – Mr. Boyce holds a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance from the University of Texas at Tyler, where he studied percussion with Drew Lang and Joe Ferraro.  Fred is endorsed by Promark.  He assists the Carroll High School percussion program as Front Ensemble director, as well as assisting with ensembles, drumline, and private lessons at the middle school and intermediate school levels.  Mr. Boyce has had students who were awarded "Outstanding Soloist" at Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest plus numerous All-Region placements.  He is a member of the Percussive Arts Society.



Percussion -

Frederick Boyce

Elizabeth Harcourt
- Ms. Harcourt has a Master of Music in Percussion Performance from the Meadows School of the Arts, Southern Methodist University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of New Mexico.  She also pursued post-graduate work at the College Conservatory of Music, University of Cincinnati, where she studied with James Culley and Russell Burge of the Percussion Group Cincinnati.  Her teaching experience covers a wide range, including:  Jesuit Preparatory School, Garland Independent School District, a Graduate Teaching Assistantship in Cincinnati, steel and marimba band classes for the University of New Mexico Music Prep School, percussion instructor for the Albuquerque Youth Symphony Summer Camp, and Drumline Coordinator and Arranger for Eldorado and Sandia High Schools in Albuquerque, NM.  While in Cincinnati, Ms. Harcourt was a member of the Badabum Percussion Trio and Sokalid Percussion Quartet.  She has also performed with various orchestras in Kentucky, Indiana, Texas, and New Mexico.  Ms. Harcourt is a member of the Percussive Arts Society.

Akie Takada
- Ms. Takada is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts at the University of North Texas.  Ms. Takada received her Master of Music in Marimba Performance from The Boston Conservatory, where she studied marimba with Nancy Zeltsman.  She holds a Bachelor of Music from the Toho Gakuen School of Music where she studied with Keiko Abe.
