Sheri Boyce - Director of SMA - Mrs. Boyce holds a Master of Music from Baylor University in Piano Pedagogy and Performance, where she studied piano with Roger Keyes. She earned her Bachor of Music at the University of Texas at Tyler in Piano Performance, studying with Lynda Stephens and Vicki Conway. Sheri is a member of Music Teachers National Association and Mid-Cities Music Teachers Association and is a licensed Kindermusik educator.
Jesse Chandler
Steve Hammond holds a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of North Texas and a Master of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Texas at El Paso.
Wendy Lockhart holds a Masters of Music in piano pedagogy from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, a Bachelor of Arts in piano performance, and a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Mobile in Mobile, Alabama. She also plays alto saxophone and bassoon and teaches sight singing and ear training part-time at Southwestern Seminary.
Emily Van Dyken is a native of the Pacific Northwest. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance from the University of Idaho and a Master of Music in Piano Performance from Texas Christian University. She recently had the opportunity to study piano and to perform in Budapest. Emily's lifelong goal is to pass her love and appreciation for music to future generations.

Ryan Haverty
Kenny Lovern holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Theory and Classical Guitar from the University of North Texas. He has extensive teaching experience working with students in private lessons, group classes, and small ensembles. Kenny is equally at home on stage playing rock music, having performed with bands in the DFW and surrounding areas for several years.
Eric Nichelson
Ruben Salazar is a native of Fort Worth and now claims Denton as his home. He plays upright and electric bass and is comfortable playing all styles of music. He has played the stages of clubs, theaters, and stadiums from Mexico to New York City. Ruben holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of North Texas.
Mike Urness is originally from Minnesota, where he taught and played music professionally for several years before moving to Texas in 1995. Since then, he has completed a Bachelor of Music in Guitar Performance from the University of North Texas. In addition to teaching, Mike is an active performer, playing with bands throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
Andy Sperandeo - Andy received his Bachelor's degree from the University of North Texas.
Voice -
Alissa Taylor holds a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of North Texas, studying with Dr. Jeffery Snider, and a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Baylor University, where she studied with Dr. John Van Cura. A native of the DFW Metro area, Alissa attended Grapevine High School and was an active participant in the GHS choir program. In high school, she was a 3-year member of the Texas All-State Choir.
Lauren Morgan - Mrs. Morgan is a native Californian and holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Texas Christian University. While at TCU, Mrs. Morgan was an active participant in both the choir and opera theater programs. She has enjoyed singing both choral masterworks and operatic roles. Before moving to Texas, Lauren also studied theater and performed roles in numerous musical theater productions.
Drums -
Steve Hill - Mr. Hill holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of North Texas. While at UNT, he studied drumset with Ed Soph and snare drum with Dr. Ron Fink. Steve performs locally with various bands, and has played drums touring the US and Europe.
Frederick Boyce- Owner of SMA – Mr. Boyce holds a Bachelor of Music in Percussion Performance from the University of Texas at Tyler, where he studied percussion with Drew Lang and Joe Ferraro. Fred is endorsed by Promark. He assists the Carroll High School percussion program as Front Ensemble director, as well as assisting with ensembles, drumline, and private lessons at the middle school and intermediate school levels. Mr. Boyce has had students who were awarded "Outstanding Soloist" at Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest plus numerous All-Region placements. He is a member of the Percussive Arts Society.
Akie Takada - Ms. Takada is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts at the University of North Texas. Ms. Takada received her Master of Music in Marimba Performance from The Boston Conservatory, where she studied marimba with Nancy Zeltsman. She holds a Bachelor of Music from the Toho Gakuen School of Music where she studied with Keiko Abe.
Josh Dresser - Josh is a graduate of the University of North Texas, where he majored in Jazz.
